Who can shop the Prime Day Sale
Historically, the very best Amazon Prime Day deals (a.k.a. the lowest prices on the best products) are reserved for Amazon Prime members. Prime members get free shipping on Prime Day deals too. If you’re not already a member and you want access to all of the best Prime Day espresso machine deals during this summer's four-day sale, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial before the sale starts. (What you do with that membership after the sale and before the end of the trial is between you and your browser.) That said, just like with the early Prime Day deals that popped up in the weeks leading up to the sale, there are still plenty of great deals to be found on Amazon and at competing retailers during the big Prime Day sale, no membership or coupon required. We've rounded the best Prime Day deals on espresso machines
Other coffee maker deals
This week, you can also save on all kinds of coffee machines—including the best drip coffee makers, pour-over carafes, French presses, cold-brew coffee makers, and single-cup coffee makers.
The best Prime Day espresso machine deals
Breville Espresso Machines
For years, Breville’s espresso makers have outperformed most of the competition in our teams’ rigorous espresso machine product testing, and year after year at least a few best-selling models get marked down for Prime Day. You really can't go wrong with a Breville espresso machine, so take your pick from these marked-down models.
Breville Infuser Espresso Machine
The Breville Infuser is essentially the Barista Express without the built-in grinder, and with a smaller footprint. If you would rather put the extra $35 toward some quality beans and don’t mind grinding your own (which isn't a bad idea), it’s a solid option.
Breville Barista Express
Our rigorous testing has shown over and over again that Breville is consistently making some of the best espresso machines—and they're especially great for beginners. This particular semiautomatic espresso machine includes a built-in grinder and steam wand, and it was once one of our top picks (though we now prefer the Breville Bambino Plus).
Breville Barista Touch
If you lean more towards an automatic espresso machine but want to at least feel like you've learned to make your own espresso drink, now is the time to splurge (but also save!) on the Barista Touch. You can trust that nobody will be rolling their eyes at your hyper-specific coffee order–just choose from the many options for grind size, milk temperature, and brew time to make your perfect drink. There are also presets that allow you to make lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos at the touch of a button. Easy.
Breville Duo Temp Pro
The Duo Temp is about as basic as Breville machines get (we're pretty sure new ones have actually been discontinued in the United States) but it’s still as reliable as any Breville machine. It uses a simple dial instead of the buttons of the fancier machines, but if you’re willing—or prefer—to go analog you can get this one on sale right now.
De’Longhi Espresso Machines
Beyond Breville, the other big name in mid-priced home espresso machines is De’Longhi. If you’re not quite ready to make the leap to a high-end prosumer machine, a De’Longhi should work wonderfully for you—and right now there are a handful of models on sale, including what we think of as the brand's flagship model, the De’Longhi La Specialista Arte
De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Evo
The La Specialista Arte Evo is another great De’Longhi espresso machine that has what the machine above doesn’t: a preset for making cold brew. It’s a smart investment for first-time espresso machine investors who want to make a variety of cafe-quality espresso and coffee drinks at home—especially when it’s on sale.
La Specialista Touch
The La Specialista Touch is De’Longhi’s answer to the Breville Barista Touch and it's our favorite De'Longhi espresso machine right now. It's very user friendly, brews nine different types of drinks, and lets you save presets for grinding. It also has a cold extraction setting, and while it's not amazing cold brew, it's not bad either.
De'Longhi La Specialista Arte
The De’Longhi La Specialista Arte machines have similar features and functionality to the Breville Barista Express machines, and they’re equally user-friendly. The built-in steam wands aren’t quite as powerful as Breville’s, but they’re powerful enough. Plus, these machines are a little less messy thanks a screw-on dosing funnel and an optional step you can put under the portafilter that stops any stray splash when pulling a shot
De'Longhi Mangifica Evo
De’Longhi Magnifica Evo is an affordable automatic machine with seven presets, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, macchiato, and iced coffee. If you’re short on space, this is one is a little more compact than the La Specialista Arte.
Bosch espresso machines
If you want the best super-automatic espresso machine, save on the Bosch 800 Series
Think of a super-automatic espresso machine like an all-in-one espresso drink maker—because it is. This kind of machine takes all the guesswork out of weighing beans, grinding them to just the right consistency, and dialing in a shot. It does it all for you! And of all the super-automatic machines we've tested over the years, the Bosch 800 Series is our favorite. All of the Bosch machines we've tested are good, but this one makes dozens of drinks at the push of a button.

Nespresso machines
Okay, okay. Nespresso machines aren’t “real” espresso machines, but the Vertuoline machines make a damn fine cup of single-serve coffee as well as consistently good espresso-style shots (meaning they taste great and have a lovely crema on top) using centrifuge technology. Do they make the absolute best coffee in the world? No. But I promise it’s really good and if you’re still drinking whatever comes out of that crusty old Mr. Coffee you took to college, Nespresso’s single-origin offerings might even blow your mind.
It’s hard to make sense of Nespresso’s many models, but if you’re a house divided (coffee drinkers and latte or cappuccino drinkers living under the same roof), you can’t go wrong with anything in Nespresso’s Vertuoline. These aren’t your typical single-serve coffee makers, either (ahem, we’re looking at you, Keurig). They’re high-quality 2-in-1 devices: coffee makers and espresso makers that yield a damn fine cup of coffee and impressive expresso-style shots at the push of a button.
As it happens every Prime Day, a handful of other Vertuoline machines are on sale too, including the one that turned me into a Nespresso evangelist in the first place, the Nespresso Vertuo Plus, along with the newer, small-space friendly Vertuo Pop machines. You can also snag a deal on the versatile, Wi-Fi-enabled Vertuo Next machines, which are capable of brewing up to an 18-ounce carafe of coffee from a single pod as well as the same great espresso-style shots.
If you want our favorite Nespresso machine, save on the Nespresso Vertuo Plus
Right now, our favorite model—the Nespresso Vertuo Plus—is on sale. This sleek machine makes great coffee and espresso shots and the water tank can be placed in the back or the side depending on your kitchen configuration. The Vertuo Plus is manufactured by both Breville and De'Longhi but the differences are really only aesthetic, so take your pick while they're both marked down.
Nespresso Vertuo Next Coffee and Espresso Maker
The Nespresso Vertuo Next does everything the VertuoPlus does—and it can connect to Wi-Fi as well as brew an 18-ounce carafe of pour-over-style coffee from a single Nespresso Vertuo coffee capsule. If you want the ability to make espresso shots and brew what is basically a small pot of coffee from one pod, this is the Prime Day Nespresso deal for you.
Nespresso Vertuo Pop+
Add a pop of color to your kitchen with a two-toned Nespresso Pop+ machine. These machines are a lot like the Vertuo Next machines, but more compact and affordable (they can’t brew 18 ounces of coffee from a single pod, though).
Breville Nespresso Vertuo Creatista
The Nespresso Vertuo Creatista by Breville is what I’ve been using using at home for about two years. It does everything the other Vertuoline machines do and then some, thanks to a built-in steam wand. Buttons on the top of the machine allow you choose the temperature and frothiness of your milk—and you don’t even have to hold the milk jug at a perfect angle like baristas do. Just set it on the machine and let the wand take it from there (“set it and forget it!”). Think of this like a two-touch cappuccino machine…or a latte machine or a flat-white machine, you get the idea. In addition to single-serve coffees and espresso-style shots, this machine can also brew 18 ounces of coffee (a carafe’s worth) from a single pod. Yes, it’s a splurge compared to other Nespresso machines, but with its stainless-steel body and milk wand, it could almost pass for one of Breville’s “real” espresso machines (if you don’t look too closely, of course, since there’s no portafilter or hot water spout), and it’s a steal compared to those.
Milk frother deals
While some of the machines above come with integrated grinders and steam wands, not all of them do. If your goal is to turn those espresso shots into lattes or cappuccinos, but you want the ease and simplicity of a Nespresso machine, consider getting a standalone frother (I love Nespresso’s Aeroccino3 and use it far more often than the steam wand that's built into my fancy Nespresso machine).
Making perfectly frothed hot milk with the Nespresso Aeroccino is as easy as pressing a button. Want cold-frothed milk? Hold the button down for three seconds. If you want even more milk frothing options, this model from Amzchef has eight different settings for everything from Dense or Airy froth to specific modes for plant-based milks.
Coffee grinder deals
If you're still using what is basically a glorified spice grinder on your fancy beans, this use this sale as an excuse to upgrade. Immediately. And even if you're getting a machine with a built-in grinder, you might want to consider getting a high-quality grinder separate from your espresso machine—in the extensive testing we’ve done, we’ve found that no one has quite nailed the quality of our favorite grinders in a built-in model.
The Oxo Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder is a great machine for beginners—and our budget pick for best coffee grinder—and you can't beat this Prime Day price. And KitchenAid’s burr coffee grinder has 70 grind settings which can handle any grind size from cold brew to espresso, and the removable hopper makes it easy to refill or swap out your coffee beans.
