There are hundreds of books on the market that deal with the subject of the US economy, why it works, why it doesn't, and so forth. Finally, someone with no "axe to grind" has written a book that takes the information on what has happened and is happening to our economy and uses it to draw some logical conclusions. Thin Ice – and Melting is not a "page turner" like some popular books, because so many of the pages contain a wealth of information and in many cases profound conclusions.
Will did not write a political screed. In fact, both parties will find parts of the book they don't like or disagree with. Yet, Will's facts are legitimate and his conclusions, in most cases are inescapable. THIS IS A MUST READ FOR ANY MEMBER OF GOVERNMENT, AND CERTAINLY FOR ANY PROSPECTIVE POLITICAL CANDIDATE.
